What is a Catechist?
A catechist is a teacher of our faith. As a catechist, you will help our children in Year 1-5 of Faith Formation to understand and learn about being a Catholic, our prayers, and our faith traditions.
What is a Companion?
Companions will accompany parents by facilitating small group discussions during the at-church sessions.
When are the at-church sessions?
At-church sessions for Year 1 are offered 6 times a year on Monday and Tuesday evenings from 6:00-7:30pm. There are 2 at-church retreats for Year 2 on select Saturdays. At-church sessions for Years 3-5 are offered 4 times a year on Sundays from 11:30am-1:00pm.
How much of a time commitment is it?
The time spent as a catechist depends on many factors; you would definitely need to be here for the entirety of the at-church session, but there would also be some preparation and planning time necessary.
Thank you for prayerfully considering helping the children of our faith community.
